Maybe I'm Amazed

It amazes me that at age 40 I still manifest the will to challenge myself in new ways. As if roller derby was not enough, I have decided to pair an elite fitness program with my roller derby training.  I hope that we can get some deal worked out with Crossfit Beaumont where the whole team can only benefit. We went as a team on Saturday and I was very pleased with my time on the 15 minute heat of the work out of the day which consisted of:
five rounds under 15 minutes
15  10 pound Dumbbell  Thrusters
10 Ring Pulls
200m run

My time was 10:08 minutes.

I want to be on the  Spindletop Roller Derby's A team like no bodies business. Nothing will stop me but the results saying one out come or the other. I have to set goals. The work starts now. No, I have not been sitting on my ass all this time, but I feel as though I have not been applying my all in order to attain the desired results.  My fitness goal is to create a more consistent performance while skating. I would also like to eat better by following a Paleo Diet

I love what I do. Skating is not my life, but since I have been skating with roller derby it sure has enriched my life on many levels. I have been able to get my self into shape and increase my endurance. I feel that my mental out look has changed as well. Yes, I will be stubborn, sometimes negative and straight up lethargic. Although these phases do not last near as long. Yes, sometimes derby has brought a few more problems into my life that I still am learning how to cope with. Since I have not quit, I feel my actions say more than any words can express. I am dedicated to my sport, team and becoming the athlete I have always wanted to be since I was a child. Thank you roller derby for saving my proverbial soul
